We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
Pupils at Winchester House do not bring smartphones onto site, in boarding or on trips. They have real face-to-face relationships and conversations, spend time outside and have contact whenever they want to with parents and carers through the school phones.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs,
- We limit smartphone use on school trips,
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise,
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones,
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible,
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
