We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
The children that attend Ormiston Latimer Academy have their mobile phones placed in storage at the start of the school day, which means that students do not physically have them on their person at all during school hours.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
