We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
We are very pleased to be a phone free school. We have had a never seen or heard policy for over a decade, but our phone pouch policy provides greater clarity and consistency for all pupils. The cultural benefits of social interaction are a standout benefit of our policy, alongside our commitment to disruption free classrooms and allowing all pupils to focus on learning in school time.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
