Introducing our Smartphone Free Childhood approach has been a significant decision for the school, one that has been carefully considered and informed by growing research into the impact of smartphones and social media on children's wellbeing, relationships and learning. While we recognise that every family will make decisions that are right for them, we believe it is important to take a proactive stance and work in partnership with parents to give our children the very best opportunity to thrive.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs
