We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
Significant improvement in social time behaviour as students sit, talk and interact with their friends. No detractions or interruption to learning during lessons. Transitions and punctuality to lessons has improved with students heading straight to lessons without diverting to the toilets to check their phones.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
