We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
We believe that by adopting a 'smartphone free' policy, we will begin to dismantle the "you get a phone when you are Year 6", which has become a de facto 'rite of passage'.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
