We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
We have implemented robust systems to ensure that children do not bring phones on to site. We advocate that children do not get a smartphone until the end of Year 11. We are proactively trying to change the social norms within our local area and Secondary Schools.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs,
- We limit smartphone use on school trips,
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise,
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones,
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible,
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
