We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
We’re proud that banning smartphones in the Junior School has fostered a community that protects childhood innocence. With play-based learning and a focus on soft skills like collaboration, curiosity, and conflict resolution, our pupils thrive in a nurturing environment. The ban is fully supported by our school community and is upheld seamlessly.
Additional policy features:
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones,
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible,
- We are excellent at implementing our policy,
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise,
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs,
- We limit smartphone use on school trips
