We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
All students understand our policy of ‘off and away all day’ and it is very consistently implemented by staff who will ‘see it, hear it, take it.’ Students report feeling much safer and happier as a result of our approach, and we deal with very few incidents related to mobile phone misuse.
Additional policy features:
- We limit smartphone use on school trips,
- We limit smartphone use during after school clubs,
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones,
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible,
- We are excellent at implementing our policy
