We are proud of our smartphone policy because:
We are incredibly proud of how well our students have handled the transition to a full ban. It has limited distractions and prioritised deeper knowledge in learning, helped improve face-to-face relationships amongst students and built better student resilience by reducing reliance on phones for issues that should be handled internally or with trusted adults/staff first.
Additional policy features:
- We never ask children to use smartphones for lesson related activities or otherwise,
- We are excellent at implementing our policy,
- We limit smartphone use on school trips,
- We actively engage with parents and children to educate on the downside of smartphones,
- We actively minimise the need for smartphones when completing homework, enabling alternatives where possible
